London 2012 Canoe Slalom: Google Doodle Lets You Navigate the Rapids

Today, Google continued their run of Olympic themed Doodles Doodle with their third straight point. Since the opening ceremony, Google has provided us with Doodle different every day, featuring one of many Olympic sports.

And for several days, they have played Doodles. On Tuesday, Doodle game featuring obstacles. Yesterday, it was Basketbal mini-game. And today, it's Slalom Canoe.

Get ready. Maybe you happen to get three gold stars in one of the previous game - but this one is much more difficult. You not only have an alternative press the arrow keys to provide forward momentum of the boat, but you have to walk through the gate and deftly avoid obstacles as well.

The Canoe Slalom as the competition was first held in 1932 in Switzerland. At first, held on flat water, but then turns into white water rapids that we've come to love. It was originally modeled after a slalom ski. In 1972, the show is to make Olympic debut - but it does not become a permanent Olympic event until 1992.

Canoe Slalom is a course for 250 yards, and of course fall times athletes determine their success. There can be up to 25 gates along the course, and failed to properly pass a person can result in penalties - two seconds to touch it, and 50 seconds to disappear altogether.

Events include Kayak (male and female) and Kano (single and double). This year, France leads the medal count with two, gold both.

And Canoe Slalom is just one of many events during the boat-Olympic London.
